Barbara Jordan was born Feb.21. in Houston, Texas.In 1962 she ran for the Texas house of Representatives and loses. In 1966 she was elected to serve in the Texas Senate and she became the first back senator since 1883. Then in 1972 she served as Governor for a day and then became the first black woman to head state and became the first black woman to serve in the House Of Representatives. In 1973 she decovers that she has an illness that will eventually will make her be in a wheelchair.In 1996 she dies in Aoston Texas on January.21.
